Comparative Analysis on Control Methods of Shunt Active Power Filter for Harmonics Mitigation

Vandana Sharma [7] | Anurag Singh Tomer

Abstract: This paper presents an overview of different control methods which are applied on Shunt Active Power Filter to achieve harmonics reduction and power factor improvement. In recent decades, the world has seen an expansion in the use of non-linear loads. These loads draw a non-sinusoidal current from the source and distribute them throughout the system. As a result the power quality degrades. Therefore, Active Power Filter and its control has been proposed which provides excellent harmonic compensation and power quality improvement.
