Trymore Chingwaru, Owen Jakata

The study explored factors restraining Small to Medium Enterprises from engaging in exports with the ultimate objective of stimulating exports for SMEs.A survey of forty one manufacturing SMEs in Harare revealed that lack of knowledge and resource constraints are the major reasons behind SMEs inertia on exports. The study also suggest that SMEs believe that their products are good enough to compete on the international scale and that government regulation is not an issue in their non-export decisions.
