Study of Pleural Diseases in Urban Background in Gandhi Hospital

Objectives: To study type of pleural disease admitted at Gandhi Hospital. To study the various treatment options for admitted at GH for pleural problems. To study the complications/morbidity and mortality of pleural diseases. Materials and Methods This study is based on 102 patients coming to Gandhi Hospital with pleural problems from june 2000 to August 2002. All the patients are investigated and treated at Gandhi Hospital. Conclusion Majority of pleural diseases still are traumatic and most of the cases are Haemothorax followed by Pneumothorax, Empyema and pleura, tumors. Most of the pleural diseases can be evaluated, diagnosed and treated by simple and cheap techniques.
