Dr. Kabita Bora Baishya, Dr. Suprio Kumar Datta
Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the most common microvascular complication of diabetes. The most common cause of vision loss in diabetic retinopathy is diabetic macular edema. Intravitreal injection of corticosteroids (triamcinolone acetonide), constitutes a newer, less destructive treatment modality in the management of diabetic macular edema.. Intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide is a favourable and promising therapeutic tool in managing diffuse diabetic macular oedema for certain duration of time with minimal transient side effect.
