A Study on Implementation of New Curriculum of M.Ed. in Private Colleges of Bareilly

Abstract: Education in itself is useless till there is not good teachers and curriculum to provide it. The quality of the teacher depends on the teacher educators, who are prepared through Master degree of education (M. Ed. ) programme of teacher education. Curriculum refers to the means and material with which students will interact for the purpose of achieving identified educational outcomes. Curriculum Implementation means how the curriculum is enacted at the classroom level with the varying context and practical challenges. The purpose of the study was to study the implementation of the working days, duration, practicum, internship, research work and problems in implementing the M. Ed. programme. To achieve the above objectives the study adopted a discriptive survey to target a population of M. Ed. teacher educators in Bareilly. The data were collected using questionnaire. From the major findings the study concluded that, for effective implementation of working days, duration, practicum, internship, research work of M. Ed. programme. But in some colleges the M. Ed. programme had not implemented. The study therefore recommended that colleges should implemented M. Ed. programme. College should improve the implementation of practicum, internship, research work and should remove all the problems related to curriculum.
