Assess the Prevalence and the Risk Factor of Obesity among the School Age Children at Mandrail in Rajasthan

Introduction Obesity is a condition in which the natural energy reserve stored in the fatty of human and other mammals is increased to a point where it is associated with certain health condition or increased mortality. Obesity is a state in which there is generalized accumulation of excess fat in the body leading to a body weight of more than 20 % of the required weight. Obesity invites disability, disease and premature death. Objective Assess the prevalence of obesity among school children aged 15 to 19 year. Find out the risk factor of obesity in school age children. Find out association the demographic variables with obesity in school children. Methodology Descriptive cross sectional research design was adopted. Non probability convenience sampling technique was used to 30school age children were selected bright star school. The data was collected organized and analyzed in term of descriptive statistics. Result The study findings showed that a majority of them i.e. 0[0 %] who had adequate knowledge, 9[30 %] who had moderate knowledge, 21[70 %] who had inadequate knowledge.
