Cyanobacteria are of great economic value. The morpho-taxanomic survey of fresh water algae of Durg and Rajnandgaon (C.G.) has revealed that large numbers of blue-green algae are present in the water bodies. Around 12 large and moderate size water bodies of the area are screened throughout the year 2013-14. In the present paper 24 taxa of class cyanophyceae including 13 genera have been described.
