Dr. Maneesh Kumar Sharma | Pusparani Loitam
Abstract: This study examines the impact of mobile phone usage among adolescents, highlighting their knowledge and the associated health implications. Given the pervasive nature of mobile phones as both communication tools and social accessories, the research aims to assess the awareness of these effects among students in a selected school in West Bengal. Employing a descriptive research design, data was gathered through structured questionnaires from 100 students, analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings revealed that 55% of adolescents had moderately adequate knowledge about mobile phone usage, 42% had adequate knowledge, and 3% had inadequate knowledge. Significant associations were found between the level of knowledge and various demographic factors such as age, sex, family type, parents? education, and place of living. The study concludes that there is a notable link between adolescents' knowledge of mobile phone impacts and their demographic characteristics, providing valuable insights for future educational and health interventions.
