The Impact of Human Resources Expenses on Financial Performance of Saudi Corporates: An Empirical Study

Abstract: Human capital is getting more attention with the advent of globalization. Countries across the globe have put emphasis on a more human capital development towards accelerating economic growth by devoting the necessary time and effort. Hence, firms must invest adequate resources in developing human capital which tend to have a great impact on performance of the organisations. This paper talks about the relationship between HR expenses and financial performance of recent years of large cap organisations of KSA representing various sectors.The data is obtained from the Balance sheet and Income statements published by these reputed Saudi corporates. It is established that there is a significant relationship between HR expenses as input and Net Profit as output, and it is of relevance for both practising HR managers and business schools in KSA.
