Giant Uterine Leiomyoma, Management and Outcome: A Case Report

Abstract: Uterine leiomyomas are most common gynaecological benign tumors,arising from smooth muscle cells of the myometrium.A 42 year old woman came with complaints of abdominal distension and pelvic pain since last 6 month.Patient underwent TAH with BSO.Fibroid measured 51*46*28 cm in size and weighed 18 kg. Giant uterine myomas are very rare and can often create a diagnostic dilemma and therapeutic challenge owing to their size, non-specific clinical presentation and degenerations.Therefore, this entity should always be kept in mind while dealing with patients with giant abdominopelvic tumors.
